Our Board Members

J. Kevin Graves, President and Founder

Kevin Graves is the father of Spc Joseph A. Graves. Kevin raised Joey as a single parent from the 5th grade until Joey decided to serve his country. Kevin is very active in many organizations that support our troops and veterans as well as his church. He has established this foundation to perpetuate the memory of his only son, his only child, and to provide aid and comfort to other Gold Star families.

Tyler James Humphrey, Secretary

Tyler grew up in Livermore, CA and has known Joey his entire life. He is extremely grateful for Joey’s selfless service and is proud to call Joey a friend. Tyler graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in Communications and is currently a project manager at MCH Electric, Inc.

Robert Horan, Treasurer

Bob Horan is a long time family friend of the Graves’ family and has known Joey since he was a young child. Bob has always displayed his patriotism and support for those that are willing to fight for our freedoms. Bob is a Bay Area native and graduate from Sacramento State University. He currently is a small business owner in Solano County.

SSG Shannon Garcia, Board Member

Sergeant Garcia was a member of the 110th MP Company and served with Spc. Graves in Iraq. Shannon, her husband Sgt. Mike Garcia and their family have become an integral part of the Graves’ family. Mike was on the Baghdad Highway the day of the ambush and awarded the ‘Army Commendation Medal with Valor’ for his actions that day. Shannon attended the memorial and funeral services held for Joey to represent the 110th.
